News Story About Voters Registering into the No Labels Party in North Carolina

This news story says 419 North Carolina voters have already registered as members of the No Labels Party, and says that two-thirds of them are voters who had not previously been registered, or at least were not registered in North Carolina. The story then suggests that perhaps persons who wish to be registered independents are choosing “No Labels”, even though “unaffiliated” (the North Carolina government’s term for independent voters) is also listed as a choice on the voter registration form.

  1. It may refer to the Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, Uniao Brasiliero por Interlingua, University of Beira Interior, United Bicycle Institute, Unione de Banche Italiane, United Business Institutes, Ubi language (an Afro-Asiatic language spoken in central Chad), Universal Basic Income, Unsorted Block Images, Usage Based Insurance, or perhaps United Barcode Industries, although that last one was acquired by Intermec in 1997. It could perhaps also mean members of musical group Pere Ubu or ultraviolet blood irradiation.

  2. UBI is an acronym for Universal Basic Income, which was a signature proposal by Andrew Yang during his 2020 presidential campaign.

  3. That was one of the choices, but I’m currently leaning towards ultraviolet blood irradiation.
