To amplify what Richard Winger posted earlier this evening, here is a county-by-county vote on the Ohio abortion and marijuana initiatives.
Ohio has 88 counties. While only the vote by individual voters is truly meaningful, it is interesting that, as of 10:45PM ET, the abortion initiative was passed in 25 counties, while the marijuana legalization initiative was passed in 39 counties.
The most conservative county in Ohio appears to be Putnam County, which is located in northwest Ohio. Its county seat is Ottawa. Its Yes vote on the abortion initiative was only 16.7%, and its Yes vote on the marijuana initiative was 30.6%. Those percentages were the lowest among all counties on both initiatives.
Good.
Both should have failed.
