My sons are law enforcement officers, and my daughter’s are married to law enforcement officers, so I don’t think my grandkids are the ones you are looking for.
If a number of votes is not enough to cause a possible change in the outcome of an election, they are not really votes. This is judicial dogma. Real votes are those in the aggregate greater than the margin between the top two candidates’ allocated votes. Hence, such lesser numbers cannot really be “spoilers” they are simply irrelevant by judicial doctrine. Even if the aggregated votes for several candidates IS greater than the margin between the top two candidates, they are irrelevant unless those candidates protest the election. Such “lesser” candidates can be intimidated into silence.
The duopoly parties and their judges see elections as administrative processes to keep offices filled rather than assure voters that elections are free and fair. Free and fair elections are verifiable by the voters verifying their own ballots were accurately tabulated and not lost, altered or substituted.
