Utah Senate Saves Local Ranked Choice Voting

On February 29, the Utah State Senate defeated HB 290. It had passed the House, and it would have ended the pilot program that lets a certain number of cities use Ranked Choice Voting for their own elections.

  1. I support the right for municipalities and counties to choose whether to use first-past-the-post voting. I support their right to choose whether to make certain positions elected or appointed. Ranked choice voting is … another choice.

    A communist instead might want to mandate RCV or whatever, and then disqualify serious political opponents to “fix” the election.
