On March 5, Massachusetts held a presidential primary for the Libertarian Party. The results: Chase Oliver 1,453; Jacob Hornberger 1,089; Michael Rectenwald 546; Lars Mapstead 399; Michael Ter Maat 314; no preference 3,982; miscellaneous write-ins 2,161; blank 980. Thanks to George Phillies and Third Party Watch for these figures, which are not official.
Do Libertarian Party primaries have a role in assigning delegates to the convention?
No.
No, they are all beauty contests only.
Chase Oliver is a communist.
NO PRIMARIES

TEMP — ALL LP PARTY MEMBERS TO VOTE BY MAIL BALLOTS — APPROVAL VOTING — PENDING CONDORCET = RCV DONE RIGHT
LATER – ALL VOTERS TO VOTE BY MAIL BALLOTS — APPROVAL VOTING — PENDING CONDORCET = RCV DONE RIGHT
I WANT TO DESTROY TREES, HUMANS, AND ALL CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS THROUGH FRAUDULENT SNAIL MAIL BALLOTS.
Full reporting of all ballots cast is compliant with the First Amendment instead of selective results for only “winners.”
Standing count elections are the best.
The presidential nomination process of the Libertarian is designed to nullify state so-called sore loser laws. Convention delegates are not bound by law to nominate only candidates with pluralities in state elections. In fact, the LP delegates could nominate someone whose name was not on any censored state ballot. The LP still reserves the right to name a candidate even if the Party was banned from the ballot in every state and DC. Chair of the Bylaws Committee at the founding convention in June 1972.
When it comes to important matters of controversy at LP conventions, they do a standing count. The gold standard of honest elections.
When a standing count is done have you ever seen a count of people who are present but remain sitting?
Were many of those write-ins for Kennedy?
ANY VOTE FOR A VET [UNABLE TO STAND] DISABLED FIGHTING ANTI-DEMOCRACY BARBARIANS ???
Why do you suppose paddles are used at auctions to register “vote/bids”?
TOKENS STILL BEING USED AT LP CONVENTIONS TO SPEED THINGS UP ???
So the losers can be paddled afterwards, of course.
@Iggy,
How would you do a standing count with 11 million voters?
Why do you ask the same question so many times? Iowa D Caucus style.
HOW ABOUT ACTIVE DUTY CRISIS FOLKS- COPS/ FIRE/ EMER/ HOSP/MILITARY/POWER/WATER/ ETC —
NOOOO STAND UP VOTES FOR THEM ???
The reason why these right wingers love standing votes is due to a KKK recruitment song: “stand up and be counted, show the world that you’re a man. Stand up and be counted, join your local Ku Klux Klan”
Massachusetts election officials domn’t count write-ins, except they do in presidential general elections for president if the presidential candidate files as a declared write-in candidate.
What does it say about us as Libertarians that Misc/write-ins got more L votes than any of our registered candidates?
miscellaneous write-ins 2,161
No surprise communist Oliver would receive the most votes of actual people in a communist state. Of course pedophile sympathizer Phiilies supports him.
The votes for misc are for ceasefire in Gaza.
Hi Richard! It’s safe to say that these results should be considered official at this point. These are the numbers reflected in PD43+, the database maintained by Secretary William Galvin’s office. His office wouldn’t add them into the database until they were verified by the individual municipal clerks.
Additionally, the Libertarian Party of Massachusetts State Committee is mainly composed of individuals associated with the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts. They recently shared details about a meeting on their official site where they discussed next steps in selecting a nominee. Choosing a candidate based on primary results, although typically a “beauty contest” as you said, is one of the several options being considered.
A fake woman supporting a fake party. No wonder Massachusetts is such a clusterfuck.
Thanks, Ed. I agree, they are for ceasefire in Gaza and Ukraine.
I don’t think it’s about Gaza. They’re supporting ceasefire in Ukraine.
@Iggy,
How would you gather 11 million voters in one location?
I wouldn’t. Like Iowa Ds, they would gather at multiple locations.
@Iggy,
Then why not do like Iowa Republicans and count the ballots at each location.
It’s better without ballots. With people physically sitting down as they are counted off there’s no chance of a miscount, among other reasons.
