U.S. District Court Says D.C. Voters Lack Standing to Challenge the 2022 Ordinance that Lets Non-Citizens Vote for Washington, D.C. Offices

On March 20, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, issued an opinion in Hall v D.C. Board of Elections, 1:23cv-1261. This case had been filed in 2023 by some Washington, D.C., voters, to block a 2022 ordinance that says non-citizen adults residing permanently in Washington, D.C., may vote in elections for city offices and for local initiatives. The decision says that the voters who filed the lawsuit lack standing. See the 12-page opinion here.

  1. ERROR ERROR CRITICAL CONDITION

I HAVE PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN

  2. DC should cease to exist. Imagine the horror if people like Richard Winger get their way and they become a state.

  3. I AM AN EXPERT AT LAW EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER WON A CASE

EVERYONE IS A TROLL MORON BUT ME

MY ASS NEEDS TO BE WIPED

  4. VOTES OF DC CITIZENS N-O-T DILUTED BY VOTES OF NON-CITIZENS ???

SEE SCOTUS 1963 ONE PERSON-ONE VOTE CASE – GA — START OF *MODERN* ELECTION CASES

    HOW SOON AN APPEAL ???

  5. THE NUTCASE TROLL MORON WITH THE AZ FIXATION NEEDS SERIOUS MENTAL HEALTH DRUGS –

OR PERHAPS JUST A TOTAL PURGE OFF OF BAN FOREVER.

  6. Good point. Unless/until reverted to Maryland, DC residents should not be allowed to vote.

  7. The voters of these 50 united States are having our votes diluted by the residents of DC, especially the two extra electoral votes they get as a quasistate.

  8. Diluting votes is a fact, but not the issue. The issue is how and who.

My vote for a minor party presidential candidate in 2020 was diluted by all the people who voted for everyone else. In my state, if no statewide candidate for a party gets at least 1% of the vote, that party loses ballot access for next election. For example, the Green Party lost it after 2020. That’s vote dilution. (some people think it’s delusion, too…) But it’s not illegal. Women dilute male votes, but that’s protected by the 19th Amendment.

Wasn’t there a court case or something about non-citizens voting in NYC recently? Didn’t that law get overturned?
