Ohio Governor Signs Bill Relaxing Deadline for Parties to Certify the Names of their National Tickets

On Sunday, June 2, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed HB 2, the bill that moves the deadline for qualified parties to certify their national tickets from 90 days before the election, to 65 days.  The bill only affects 2024.

  1. Oh wow, the pampering. It is unjust that third parties and Independents don’t also get such treatment.

    I wonder why DeWine is pampering the Democrat establishment (DNC) like that. A Democrat Governor would never pamper the Republican establishment (RNC) like that.

  2. Possibly because it would actually hurt the Republicans downticket if the Democrats had to do the work to organize a write in campaign, and Biden won’t win Ohio whether he’s on the ballot or not?

    I’m not sure that’s true, given how RINO the Republican establishment has become. But RINO DeWine is for all practical intents and purposes a Democrat, so no surprise at his signing of this bill.
