Ohio Libertarian Party Completes Petition for Party Status and Files the Petition

On July 2, the Ohio Libertarian Party submitted 88,000 signatures on its petition for party status.  The requirement is 40,345.  The party had been working on this petition drive for the last three months, and the party deliberately did not publicize it.  See this story.

This is the first time the party has submitted a petition for party status since 2018.  It expects to nominate someone for U.S. Senate and a number of U.S. House seats, as well as legislative races and partisan county offices.

  1. HOW MANY LP CASES PENDING FOR 2024 BALLOT ACCESS ???

1954 BROWN V BD OF ED MENTIONED IN ANY COMPLAINT OR BRIEF ???

  2. You fucking retard, Brown has nothing to do with this. Are you too fucking stupid to read?

  3. One of the significant aspects of the story is that it appears that the Ohio Democratic party, or groups associated with the Ohio Democratic Party, paid for this petition. Assuming that is true, this marks a break from the past for the Democratic Party nationally. The Democratic Party has never before helped get any minor party or independent presidential candidate on a ballot in any state, as far as is known. But Republican Party state parties have helped various minor parties or independent presidential candidates to get on the ballot. That has been a key difference between the two major parties. Maybe Democrats are finally re-thinking this idea.

  4. Comrade Winger,

We might help Comrade Oliver, because he promotes the woke agenda and takes votes from Trump at the same time. I’m not going to say he’s a sleeper DNC agent, just that he does what we would him to do if he was one, LOL!

  5. The Democrats are hoping that the Libertarian Party of Ohio siphons votes from Republicans so they can win more elections.

  6. Comrade Andy,

Can you blame a girl for hoping? I would, um, guess there’s a reason I’m here, LOL! Like, duh!

  7. Comrade Z,

Very cryptic. I like it! Like a puzzle! I’ve always loved puzzles.

  8. The Republicans have, when they have supported alternative party or candidate efforts to attain ballot access, only done so for their own narrow interests. The Democrats in Ohio are doing the same. I certainly don’t advocate turning down the assistance, but nobody should take this as a sign that the establishment parties are becoming more broadminded on ballot access. Further, I’m not confident that these efforts actually help the establishment parties the way they think. It can only be conceived as helpful if one thinks of alternative candidates solely as a means to siphon off votes that would otherwise go to a ‘real’ candidate, which is an overly simplistic and faulty perception.

  9. Comrade Powell,

What’s overly simplistic or faulty about it?
