  1. I actually really appreciate Bobby doing that. He had to suffer through both his uncle and his father being killed. He would never want to see another father lose his life like that.

  2. So Trump met with Kennedy to get Bobby’s endorsement. 🤣 🤣 🤣

No Kennedy will not endorse the warp speed ticket.

    #Kennedy2024

  3. Mr. Kennedy was polite enough to honor a request for a meeting. Mr. Trump was gracious enough to publicly call for Secret Service protection for Mr. Kennedy in return.

This is a silver lining in an otherwise tragic weekend.

  4. Johnny, yep, and IMO, makes Trump look weak.

Were I Biden, I’d hammer on that.

  5. Just Me (who is actually Stock) is a moron. Trump will be even stronger.

    Trump 2024!

  6. @Hector Roos, exactly. That’s the unity that Biden doesn’t give America.

  7. Still no public statement from Kennedy on the shooting, or has it just received no play? Kennedy should be all over the media about this right now, unless maybe he’s too retraumatized. They do have him on sometimes, so it can’t be that.

  8. A shame it didn’t lead to a Trump-Kennedy ticket – or even better though much less likely, a Kennedy-Trump ticket – but good that they were both willing to (have a very long) talk and good that it led to Kennedy getting the security he wanted, though I still think he would be safer with some Russian or Salvadorian PMCs guarding him.

Maybe Trump can appoint Kennedy as Secretary of Dismantling and let him run berserk on all the three letter agencies, that would be nice.

  9. Kennedy is far left on many economic and environmental issues, further left than Biden. Weird that an actual communist like Stock and someone who thinks Trump is too liberal like Nuna both like him.

    Just for example

There’s a lot more under policies that should be a big problem for anyone on the right, moderate left, libertarian, libertarian adjacent, or in fact anyone except a leftist. There’s nothing which would be a problem for a leftist – if there is, what was it?

Kennedy was running for the D nomination a few months ago. The main, or maybe only, reason he switched to independent was that the Democrats were not giving him a fair shot with Biden being the incumbent.

What on earth would cause someone to the right of Trump to support him?

  10. Kennedy isn’t interested in dismantling. He’s interested in expanding them and replacing their leadership.

A Trump-Kennedy debate would be great, though. Trump needs to get his head out of his ass and make it happen. Between Kennedy’s vocal problem and his far left views, it would help Trump and further split the D vote.

  11. I know Republicans that are now turned off because of Vance. They don’t like him. He’s a weasel. Trump should have picked Tulsi.

“someone who thinks Trump is too liberal like Nuna both like him. […] What on earth would cause someone to the right of Trump to support him?”

You seem to be laboring under a misapprehension. I certainly do not “like” or “support” RFK.

I would slightly prefer him winning over Trump, because of his superior stances against medical fascism and the “Palestinian” occupation of Israel and genocide against Jews. But conversely he is even worse than Trump regarding abortion and climate.

The difference is that Trump has already been elected twice and sworn in once, and has little to no good to show for it. Kennedy has not had and squandered those opportunities, even if he likely will, so that’s why he deserves a first shot more than Trump deserves a second or third depending on how you want to view it.

Kennedy and Trump partially cover each others’ blind spots, though there is really no reason to think that a Trump-Kennedy or Kennedy-Trump ticket would not result in the worst of both rather than the best of both.

In any event, I’d barely rather that Kennedy wins than Trump wins only in the same way I’d barely rather that Trump wins than Biden wins: they are all largely the interchangeable heads of the same Hydra, and I could never square voting for any one of them (again) with my conscience. So I resent being said to “like” or “support” RFK.

  13. Nuna,

You are just wrong about the Alaska Treaty. I am old so while having white cotton gloves on I held the original draft of the Alaska Treaty that was prepared by Hunter and Hilgard between 29 – 30 March 1867. It was several pieces of paper glued together and done in pencil. It was not a lease agreement.

That Treaty only covered part of Alaska. It was the Harrison Alaska Organic Act that set the limits of Alaska under Section 1. That was made clear by the US Supreme Court in the cases of In re Cooper (1892) and Binns v. United States (1904).
