On July 26, the Nebraska Secretary of State certified Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for the ballot as an independent candidate. The Secretary of State said the Democratic Party’s challenge to his candidacy has no merit. The party had claimed that Kennedy could not be an independent candidate in some states because he is a minor party in other states. See this story.

Such a precedent could create havoc for all minor parties that use different methods to get on the ballot in different states.
