ABC Debate Criteria for September 10 Presidential Debate are Similar to CNN Criteria

On July 30, ABC News, sponsor of the next presidential debate, announced rules for inclusion to the September 10 event.  They are very similar to the CNN rules that pertained to the June 27 debate.  See here.  Thanks to Derek Muller for the link.

ABC Debate Criteria for September 10 Presidential Debate are Similar to CNN Criteria — 16 Comments

  1. Trump, Harris or whoever the Democrats nominate, Kennedy, Terry, Oliver, Stein and West. On X. With Elon Musk and Julian Assange moderating.

  2. Harris won’t debate anyone except Trump. Kennedy apparently also doesn’t want to debate anyone except Harris and Trump, at least while the possibility of debating them still exists. Thus, Trump-Kennedy is the only realistic possibility there.

  3. Trump should refuse debates that exclude them, then just debate them regardless whether Harris and Kennedy decide to show up or not. He won’t, but he should. Especially now that he is leading in polls. That would show them.

  4. Exactly. But it should. Trump has the opportunity of doing something right for once in his life. But he won’t. As always.

  5. Naturally, it’s most important for him to debate Harris. I think he should also debate Kennedy, because it will show that Kennedy is still leftist on most issues and will dig into Harris support more than it will into his. Thus, it will help him via a vis Harris. Kennedy has enough funding, will have enough ballot access, and has shown enough poll support to plausibly take advantage of such a debate, but not to the extent of actually winning. It would benefit both campaigns to make it happen. Debating 1% candidates may be the noble thing to do, but it’s far less clear how it would help Trump beat Harris, which is obviously his main focus.

  6. Consider “what should be” unburdened by what “will be”. Lmao.

Trump has already got whoever the Democrats nominate beaten. Barring a repetition of the 2020 election fraud – which Trump has done nothing to combat – he has the election in the bag. Anything he says can – and based on his previous showings, will – only alienate voters from him.

Trump should debate all candidates, not because it’s noble – it isn’t – but because it is the right thing to do – which is also why he won’t do so. While not debating them would certainly be ignoble, there is nothing noble about doing the very minimum of what any even fractionally decent candidate would do. The same goes for Kennedy, and for whoever the Democrats nominate.

Even though it will cost him a few votes, there is no reason for Trump not to do so, because he will easily collect enough votes regardless.
The Democrats have no reason to avoid the debate, because they have nothing to lose.
While Kennedy very much wants to debate Trump because he can easily win such a debate due to Trump’s Operation Warp Speed. And Harris or whoever the Democrats put up, also wouldn’t form any challenge to him.
Kennedy has any debate between just the tree of them in the bag, the same way Trump has the election in the bag.

But then throw the Terry, Oliver, Stein and West into the mix, and it suddenly isn’t so cut and dry.
Terry would destroy both Kennedy and Trump on abortion – in the kindest possible words, I’m sure – while Oliver, Stein and West would provide an interesting foil for the Democrat, with the latter two being raging anti-semites – which seems to be as popular as ever among Democrat voters, if not more so.

Washington — Vice President Kamala Harris is the only White House hopeful who has qualified to compete for the Democratic presidential nomination, the Democratic National Committee said in a statement on Tuesday.

Although no other major Democrat had indicated any plans to challenge Harris, the DNC’s announcement officially clears the path for the vice president to seek her party’s nomination uncontested, just nine days after her former running-mate, President Joe Biden, dropped out of the race and created a vacancy at the top of the ticket.

Vice President Kamala Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee in the 2024 election, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced Tuesday night.
Harris was the only candidate to qualify for the Democratic party’s presidential nominating ballot, the party said.
Across the country, 3,923 delegates petitioned to make Harris the Democratic nominee, according to the DNC, which noted Harris secured the support of 99% of participating delegates.
The virtual roll call to make Harris the official Democratic nominee will begin Thursday, Aug. 1, and will end on Monday, Aug. 5.

And it history be 4 separate polls

It can be the same polling company more than once

    This looks.like election interference
