Missouri Green Party Petition is Valid

On August 20, the Missouri Secretary of State said the Green Party petition is valid.  The party did this drive, which required 10,000 valid signatures, entirely by volunteer labor, although it took over 18 months.  This is an example of the importance of letting petitions begin to circulate as early as the proponents wish.

  1. Friends,

I don’t know if you’ve seen the new Politico story, “RFK Jr.’s sputtering presidential campaign is almost broke,” but with a heavy heart I must admit that last month our campaign spent more money ($7 million) than we took in ($5.6 million).

We had just $3.9 million in the bank at the end of last month — while owing nearly $3.5 million in debt.

Bobby has not appeared at a public campaign event since early July, popping up sparingly at conferences and on podcasts. And his standing in the polls has continued to drop with both major parties consolidating support after the Republican National Convention and Vice President Kamala Harris’ replacement of President Joe Biden at the top of the ticket.

Our July finance report reflected our campaign’s work on ballot access: The largest vendor in the month was Accelevate 2020 LLC, a firm that works on ballot access. Other major expenses included more than $600,000 in spending on Facebook and Google ads. And the campaign accrued more than $400,000 in new debt to a security firm run by one of his longtime associates.

Despite our joint fundraising partnership with the Libertarian Party, our fundraising ticked up only slightly in July, not enough to keep pace with his campaign’s spending.

Our situation is dire. So I ask you all, our loyal followers, to go to Kennedy2024.com and give all the money you have available to our campaign now or we will not be able to achieve the victory at the polls in November that all of you are expecting.

Please! Do not let me down! Do not let yourself down! Go to Kennedy2024.com and give everything you have!

  2. Kennedy is not a communist. He’s actually to the right of Trump. At least on my imaginary planet.

  3. Some folks on here seem to think everyone and everything they don’t like is Communism. Kennedy is no Communist, he does not support the idea of a classless, stateless society. He’s not even a socialist who wants the working class to have more power and better living and working conditions. He, like both Trump and Harris, is a capitalist.

That being said, Cheryl must be posting a boilerplate message, because few people on here are RFK Jr supporters. I’m certainly not. As a Green I sympathize with how difficult and expensive his ballot access struggle is (although he’s had much more money to work with than we Greens do), but some of his policy positions are anathema to me. If I had spare money to donate, it’d be going to Jill Stein and the Green Party.

  4. Donating to RFK Jr would be chasing good money after bad, as Nicole Shanahan not writing another check or at least offering a donor match proves. But at least Kennedy’s lawyers are smart enough to not make any foolish arguments based on Brown vs Board of Education, which has nothing to do with elections. They would only do that if they ate brown acid and wanted to be laughed out of court like Thomas W Jones.

  5. Kennedy and Stein will both end up with less than 1%, as will everyone else running for president besides Trump and Harris this year. The Kennedy campaign will have accomplished very little besides putting money in Trent Pool’s pockets.

  6. I’m aware that Jill’s probably only going to get 1% of the vote at most (I think Kennedy will probably end up with 2-3%, similar to Ralph Nader and Gary Johnson). The few of us who are voting for minor party and Independent candidates are mostly doing so for policy and character reasons, not because we think they will win.

  7. Nader and Johnson ran relatively more competent campaigns than Rfk Jr. His is one step above the no lube ballot access scam. It functions primarily to redistribute money from billionaire donors (and in Kennedy’s case also some smaller fish) to millionaire political consultants and thousandaire hobos with clipboards.

  8. The person who keeps saying people are retards and or Stock is himself a retard and might be Stock.

  9. You’re the biggest retard around here regardless of how retarded Stock or anyone else is. At least he managed to figure out how to live rent free in your head.
