Delaware, New Hampshire and Rhode Island are holding their primaries for non-presidential office today, September 10. The fact that these three states are able to administer elections with such a late primary is a lesson for the rest of the country, especially states that feel it is sensible to print general election ballots in the first half of September.
New Hampshire is also holding their primaries today.

Smaller states seem to be able to hold primaries and conventions later, as well as certifying independent candidate petitions later.

So, why not divide larger, more populous states onto smaller ones? Maybe the country would be happy if more states were the size of New England states. Easier for folks to move to a state that they like.
