One problem or downside of proportional representation is that the direct proportion of one representative to one district disappears, making it easier for politicians to point fingers at each other and leave voters more confused than ever who to blame for any resulting mess and not representing their district well enough , as well as more mundane constituent services. To the extent those actually happen, it’s mostly because politicians know that voters will know exactly who to blame when they don’t happen.
