Justice Samuel Alito Denies Cornel West’s Request for Injunctive Relief with Pennsylvania Write-ins

On October 31, Justice Samuel Alito denied Cornel West’s request for an injunction to have Pennsylvania polling places carry instructions on write-in voting. 24A427. He did not refer the application to the other members of the Court.

    The problem with enforcing 14-2 for a ban on write-ins is that it affects the rights of 100% of “male citizens twenty-one years of age” and would therefore eliminate those states’ representation from the House. The Supreme Court will not go for that.

    Also, Pennsylvania allows write-in votes, and I believe that West can receive votes there.
