Claudia De la Cruz Inches Ahead of Chase Oliver in California Vote Count

As of Thursday, November 14, Claudia De la Cruz has more votes for President than Chase Oliver in California. California won’t certify its results until early December, and has millions of uncounted votes, so this might change. But the total on November 14 is 60,929 for Claudia De la Cruz, and 58.477 vote Chase Oliver. See the Secretary of State’s website here.

The last time the Peace & Freedom presidential nominee outpolled the Libertarian presidential nominee in California was 2008, when Ralph Nader on the PFP line got 108,381, and Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party got 67,582.

Claudia De la Cruz Inches Ahead of Chase Oliver in California Vote Count — 16 Comments

  1. Two questions: Will Trump stay above 50% nationally? Might RFK Jr. pass Jill Stein?….I do think this has been a good campaign for De la Cruz.

  2. This is a bad sign of things to came. I would bet money that most votes for Caludia de la Cruz are due to her having a Spanish surname and that most of those who voted for her have no idea who she is or what she stands for.

This illustrates the danger of ethnic or racial block voting. Issue stances, philosphy and character do not matter when ethnic or racial block voting come into play.

  3. There is not really much that can be done. It is just another argument in favor of resricting immigration and making it more difficult to become an American citizen.

I would go further and restrict voting and donating to pollitical campaigns to only those who can pass a test on what the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution say.

  4. Andy, the Peace & Freedom Party has been on the California ballot since January 1968 (except for a three-year gap in 2000 and 2002). People in California generally know the party’s stands on issues.

  5. I have worked petitions in California 31 times between 2001-2022. I have worked petitions in 14 counties in California (San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Tulare, Fresno, Alameda, Contra Costa, Sacramento and Placer). I have also assisted thousands of people in registering to vote in California.

I have rarely encountered anyone who has any idea what the Peace and Freedom Party is.

The same goes with the American Independent Party.

Way more people know about California’s other two ballot qualified parties, the Libertarian Party and the Green Party.

So I do not believe that most people know what the Peace and Freedom Party is, or know who Claudia de la Cruz is. I think the only way she could have more votes than Chase Oliver is because California has a large Hispanic population and most of these votes for Claudia de la Cruz are because she has a Spanish surname. If Chase Oliver was Chase Olivera he would have received more votes.

  6. Hispanics need to be prohibited from voting and mass deported. And commies should be dropped from helicopters, like under Pinochet.

  7. Andy’s experience matches mine. Few voters know what the p&f and ai parties represent, and the vast majority don’t even realise ai is a party at all.
