  3. As an Alaskan, I was not happy with the result. However, there are good points to it. This election had four people chosen for the final four – three Republicans and one Demonrat. heole purpose of ranked choice voting, in a Republican State such as Alaska, is to have several Republicans running who will split the vote and elect the Demonrat. Well, the three Republicans got smart and numbers 2 and 3 withdrew from the race, and number one was subsequently elected. The really humerous part of this was that when the two Republicans withdrew, they were replaced by numbers 5 and 6. One of these was a person running as a Demonrat who was incarceated in New York and had never been to Alaska in his life. The Demonrats sued to have him removed from the ballot, and lost. So I was really able to enjoy voting my Republican candidate as choice number one, and the New York convict as choice number 2. Thie result should strengthen the Reublican Party of Alaska. They now know the threat that they are facing and will be able to meet it. Also, our Republican Legislature might repeal ranked choice voting on its own. Finally, even if ranked choice voting remains, the people will probably repeal it in 2026, after some more shenanigans and black humor. Politics is interesting and wierd, but we will all survive, but only because Trump has been reelected.

  4. Trump should sign an executive order banning RCV nationwide. Congress should then pass it into actual law.

  5. I forgot to mention that the Alaskan result was because of the huge amounts of money that was spent in opposing the initiative, and the advertising that they used was downright lies. Too many gullible Alaskans, I guess. Oh well, we appreciate the contributions that they made to Alaska’s economy – come here, spend lots of money, and then go home.
