Massachusetts Secretary of State Releases Write-in Totals for Declared Presidential Write-in Candidates

The Massachusetts Secretary of State has released the write-in tally for the declared presidential write-in candidates. Peter Sonski of the American Solidarity Party received 280 votes. In 2020 the party did not have write-in status in Massachusetts.

  2. Thanks for the post. I think it’s better to say that in 2020, Massachusetts didn’t publish individualized presidential write-in results at all.

  3. Richard – As Everett wrote, Massachusetts didn’t publish write-in totals at all.

    It is worth noting that the current unofficial count of the American Solidarity Party based on communication from town clerks is 317 votes. Further, we have received communication from several clerks that they didn’t count our votes because, in their words, they aren’t required to tally any write-in that gets fewer than 5 votes in their town – even though they are required by statute to count votes for certified write-ins.

    Furthermore, in several Massachusetts towns that certified 0, we have voters who insist that they voted for Peter Sonski and Lauren Onak. So I expect this number to change.
