The New York State Board of Elections continues to tally the number of registered voters in parties that were qualified before the 2020 law that removed them from the ballot. Because these parties are no longer listed on the enrollment form, it is not surprising that they have been declining. Nevertheless, there are still many voters registered in these parties.
As of December 4, 2024, there are 16,424 Greens; 15,017 Libertarians; 372 in the SAM Party; and 300,653 in the Independence Party.
As of February 27, 2024, membership was 18,153 Greens; 17,330 Libertarians; 428 in the SAM Party; and 322,070 in the Independence Party.
The November 1 2024 print issue of Ballot Access News had a chart showing the number of registered voters in each party in each state, but becaues that issue was printed before these new figures were available, the chart had to show the February 2024 figures for New York.
How about the Liberal Party?
That went off the ballot in 2002.
