Ohio State Senator Andrew Brenner (R-Delaware) has introduced SB 107. It would make elections for State Board of Education, and local education board elections, partisan instead of nonpartisan.

Richard, there is a similar bill introduced here in West Virginia; Senate Bill 521: https://www.wvlegislature.gov/Bill_Status/bills_text.cfm?billdoc=sb521%20intr.htm&yr=2025&sesstype=RS&i=521
Hopefully it will just stay stuck in the Judiciary Committee.
Very odd since it wasn’t that long ago that these elections were switched from partisan to non-partisan. Why this fool of a state senator wants to go back to that is beyond me.
party hacks want more party hacks in other offices to NOT have them as primary competition.
