U.S. District Court Strikes Down Maryland’s Ban on Providing Access to Voter List to Groups That Are Investigating Integrity

On March 4, U.S. District Court Judge Matthew J. Maddox, a Biden appointee, issued an opinion in Sullivan v Summers, 1:24cv-00172.  The order finds that Maryland must release the list of registered voters to organizations that are investigating the integrity of the list.  The order is based on the federal voter registration law.

The order also cites an earlier federal court decision that had told Maryland it could not automatically reject a request for the list of voters that had been made by someone who doesn’t live in Maryland.
