The U.S. Supreme Court will again consider whether to hear Meadors v Erie County Board of Elections, 24-684, on May 2. It had considered this case on April 25 and did not decide that day. This is the case involving the May petition deadline for independent candidates and the nominees of unqualified parties.

  16. The only Constitutional deadline for voters to choose among candidates is Election Day when the voter cast their ballot. All pre-election deadlines to disqualify candidates are schemes to keep incumbents in power. Abolish all ballot access censorship with a write-in only voter verifiable ballot. No petitions, no arbitrary deadlines, no quotas, no candidate fees. If the government ballot printing monopoly is to stand, the ballot must be content neutral until the voter decides.
