On June 11, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley sent a letter to many organizations, including the Party for Socialism and Liberation, thought to have helped organize demonstrations concerning actions by the federal government on immigration. The letter wants each group to furnish: 1. All internal communications, including emails, text messages, chart logs, and messaging applications, relating to protest planning, coordination, or funding; 2. All financial documents relating to protests, demonstrations, or mobilization efforts in Los Angeles or elsewhere relating to immigration enforcement; 3. All third-party contracts or vendor agreements, including any arrangements with event organizers, transportation providers, security personnel, or communications consultants relating to immigration enforcement of the Los Angeles protests, or similar protests elsewhere; 4. Grant applications, funding proposals that relate to or reference immigration enforcement; 5. Travel and lodging records for individuals or groups supported or reimbursed in connection with protest activities; 6. Media or public relations strategies, including talking points, press releases, and coordination with journalists or influencers relating to immigration protests; 7. Donor lists.
The letter ends by saying, “Failure to comply will result in additional action by this Subcommittee, including potential referral for criminal investigations.”

What does this have to do with ballot access?
We used to fight fascists eighty years ago. Now they’re ruling this country, and their supporters are openly demanding US citizens to be deported and opposition parties shut down, the Constitution be darned.
Fascists want you to believe the First Amendment doesn’t exist. If you comply, it doesn’t.
Some “US citizens” do need to be deported, especially because they are not really US citizens at all. The definition of US citizenship has been distorted with birthright citizenship for children of illegals, amnesty which legalized illegals and later allowed them to become citizens, etc.
Righting these wrongs isn’t fascist. What’s fascist is the OverfedGov not enforcing its own immigration laws while not allowing state and local governments to either enforce those laws or pass any of their own while saddling those state and local governments and taxpayers at local, state, and federal levels with mass illegal (and consequence of illegal, chain) immigration of multi millions of unvetted aliens, massive welfare payments to them and their children, educating their kids, all sorts of costs stemming from their criminal activity, trying to prevent it, and dealing with its consequences, their health care costs and the costs of infectious diseases they help bring in and spread, their housing, etc, etc.
It’s totally fascist of the federal government to saddle states, local communities, and individual property owners and taxpayers as well as our kids with all these risks and costs.
As for minor parties who’s trying to shut them down? Usually 9/10 times it’s the so called “Democratic Party” and its allies.
That doesn’t mean that calling itself a minor party or running a few candidates for office gives a bunch of rabid communists a blank check to aid and abet a criminal insurrection like what’s going on with the LA riots and the copycats around the country.
That’s a real insurrection, and a metastasizing social cancer of an actual foreign invasion. They are literally waging war on us, waving their foreign flags in U.S. cities, firing rocket launchers at federal buildings, destroying property on a mass scale, destroying civic order, threatening lives, and demanding that the federal government continue to not enforce its immigration laws or allow anyone else to.
Senator Hawley is absolutely right to demand the requested records from these communist and fascist organizations.
Communism is just the most extreme form of fascism.
The LA riots are an actual insurrection, unlike what happened in DC on 6 January 2021, which wasn’t anywhere close.

Walter, not only the Socialist Workers Party, but the Communist Party and the Socialist Action Party got similar court rulings. However in each case the parties had lots of evidence that when their members are identified, they suffer serious harm. Socialist Workers Party members in Los Angeles who happened to be working in the party bookstore were once all tied up and the building set on fire while they were inside.

The letter requests that the records be preserved; it does not demand to see them. Hawley and his subcommittee, including his call to “cease and desist,” are completely toothless. They have no legal jurisdiction over any of these organizations. This is just political grandstanding.
