Third Circuit Won’t Put Pennsylvania Primary Write-in Candidate on November Ballot

On September 16, the Third Circuit refused to order Pennsylvania election officials to put Brandon Pugh on the November 4, 2025 ballot as the Republican nominee for Mayor of Lyons Borough. Pugh v Berks County Board of Elections, 25-2724. Pugh had received more write-in votes in the Republican primary for that office than anyone else (no one was on the primary ballot). But he couldn’t be nominated because the number of write-in votes he received was fewer than ten, and the Pennsylvania law required write-in candidates to get at least ten write-ins. If he had been on the primary ballot, and no one else had outpolled him, he could have been the nominee even if he had only one write-in vote.

The Third Circuit order said the constitutional issue is not being decided in today’s action.

    Pennsylvania requires a modicum of support at some stage in the process.

  14. Eddie: I have NEVER posted anything about removing organs while a person was stll alive. Satanists will tell the occasional “white lie” as in Do these jeans make me look fat?     Those harms wouldn’t be imaginary if Trump was a tyrant. The point is that it’s completely ridiculous to disgracefully lie that Trump is a tyrant like the AZ SPAMBOT keeps doing. Your removal of that comment, far from helping Trump’s reputation, helps enable the disgusting mindset that has already led to at least two attempts on his life and recently led to the tragic murder of the heroic Charlie Kirk.

    After all, there’s nothing wrong with assassinating a tyrant or his supporters. So, if Trump actually was a tyrant, those actions would be defensible or even heroic. That’s why it’s so important to allow the publication of comments which illustrate why it’s so ridiculous to falsely claim that Trump is a tyrant whenever that disgusting lie is spread.

    Please stop enabling assassination politics.

There are many tyrants throughout history and throughout the world today who do all the things in the IFO QUESTIONS comment that Richard Winger doesn’t want his readers to see and many more “unpleasant” real life actions that real life tyrants order (and in some cases even personally help carry out).

    Trump of course does nothing at all even remotely like those things. It’s those things which make it morally justifiable to kill tyrants. See the Virginia flag and motto.

    Therefore, Richard Winger is tacitly enabling assassination. How unpleasant is that?
