Libertarian Party Chooses 2028 National Convention City

On February 10, the Libertarian Party national committee chose El Paso, Texas as the site for its 2028 presidential convention. There has never before been a presidential convention held in that city. The date is tentatively February 18-21, 2028. If confirmed, that will be the earliest presidential convention held by the Libertarian Party since the 1992 presidential election. Thanks to Independent Political Report for this news.

  1. You also can’t spell NAZI without AZ !!! I am on the side of TRIUMPH with TRUMP and defeating the NAZIS and AZ !!!

  2. Real Facts

    “AZ spambot,

As always, if President Trump was a tyrant, you would be deprogrammed, your programmers would be in prison, and this website would be taken down.”

    Duh!

  3. It’s too bad the AZ-666 SPAMBOT cant be programmed to only work in North Korea so it could see what a real tyrant does as it gets deprogrammed in a horrific manner.

  4. Richmond, VA would have been a better chouce, in my opinion.

El Paso, TX is a large city with over 678,000 in the city limits and over 879,000 people in the metro area, but there are really no major cities near it. The closest city of note is Las Cruces, NM which has a bit over 100,000 people. The closest city which could be classified as a major city is Albuquerque, NM which is 3 hours and 45 minutes away by driving. Tucson, AZ is a 4 hours and 40 minutes drive. The drive time from Phoenix, AZ is 6 hours and 30 minutes. Dallas, TX is 9 hours and 6 minutes, Austin, Tx is 8 hours and 37 minutes, San Antonio, TX is 7 hours and 45 minutes,Houston, TX is 10 hours and 33 minutes and Oklahoma City, OK is 10 hours and 22 minutes.

I have been to El Paso, TX. There is practically nothing around there for long distances.

Contrast this with Richmond, VA which only has 226,000 and something in its city limits, but has a lot more people in all directions outside of it. Richmond is also not far from the Virginia Beach/Norfolk metro area, the Washington DC and Baltimore metro area, and the metro areas of Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Greensboro, NC and Philadelphia, PA are not terriblely far. New York City, New York is 5 hours and 28 minutes away and Atlanta, GA is 7 hours and 49 minutes away. Look at the population density that is within say an 8 hour drive from Richmond, VA as compared to the population density which is within an 8 hour drive from Richmond, VA. There are way more people within an 8 hour drive from Richmond, VA than from El Paso, TX.

It is obvious that those who voted for El Paso, TX over Richmond, VA did not vote in favor of what would be the most convenient for delegates.

I suspect the real reason they voted for El Paso, TX is because they are left-Libertarians who want to virtue signal about how much they support open borders and unlimited unrestricted immigration (nevermind the fact that in a purist libertarian anarcho-capitalist society there’d be no open borders since everything would be private property, and there’s also be no anti-discrimination laws and no government welfare programs enticing people to migrate) which falls inline with the globalist and international communist NWO agenda.

Note that Mexico boots illegal aliens out and they do not allow foreigners to suck up taxpayer funds and that it is very difficult to gain citizenship in Mexico and that the policies in Mexico do not allow for big shifts in the demographics of Mexico. Also, when it comes to jobs they put Mexicans first, as in they do not hire foreigners for any jobs which could be done by a Mexican. They try to fill all positions with Mexicans before hiring a foreigner.

So in Mexico they do not believe the same garbage spouted by leftists, including left-Libertsrians.

I consider right-Libertarians to be the sensible and realistic and consistent libertarians.

  5. Don’t the vast majority of delegates fly to those things? Who wants to drive 4, 6, or 8 hours each way? I would guess hardly nobody?

  6. Never mind 4, 6, or 8 hours. They have delegates assigned by state last time I checked . So no matter where they held it, a majority of delegates would be spending more than one night in motels in each direction on the way to spend two or three nights in a motel and basically take a whole week off work and off everything in their lives. Only a completely crazy person would do that. The only thing that matters as far as where the city is, is the time and cost of flying there since 90-something percent of everyone going will be flying.

  7. Why don’t they have it online? This is the 2020s. I don’t see the point of spending even one night in a motel or hundreds of dollars for an airplane ticket when you can just go on zoom or whatever for free. It’s not like they have any big wigs to impress or billionaires to wine, dine, and 69. The major news media won’t be there. So why not a virtual convention?

  8. I’ve read that Andy Gonzalez is a hobo. Does he hop freight trains and ride the rails to conventions with his clothes in a bag on a stick, a mangy mutt, and a harmonica? Do they even let him into the motel 6 lobby dressed like that (the motel where they have the convention, it could be a Super 7 or Days Inn etc)?

  9. He probably hitch hikes because they don’t let him get on a plane. If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Mexicans is not a difficult one.

  10. If Andy Gonzalez loves Mexico so much, why doesn’t he move back there? No hobos with clipboards jobs for Mexicans?

  11. Maybe they want to gather so they can trade their kids like baseball cards, hold them, touch them, and pass them around?

  12. That may also explain why they are not allowed to fly. That or involvement with terrorism.

  13. Let us pray that Jehovah in His infinite wisdom will smite this gathering of sodomites, perverts, drug addicts, kid touchers, hoboes, and Mexicans.

  14. Relax and don’t worry, it’s going to be fine. The White People’s movement keeps getting bigger all the time. I’m dreaming of a White nation, just like the ones that I once knew. And now with mass deportation, my dream is starting to come true!

  15. Forever Trump, I want to have forever Trump
Do you really want Trump as President forever?
    Forever, and ever
Forever Trump, I want to have forever Trump

Do you really want Trump forever?
    Forever Trump!

  16. If they held it in the lobby of the motel 6 in El Reno, would Robert Stock refuse to serve them coffee? Would it smell like curry? Would there be vomit in the elevator and dirty bedsheets and towels because he is a lazy employee?

  17. Convention delegates who are within reasonable driving distance to conventions tend to drive, those who are not tend to fly.

There are a lot more people who are within s reasonable driving distance to Richmond, VA than to El Paso, TX.

El Paso, TX was chosen so left-Libertarians can virtue signal.

  18. A reasonable driving distance is no more than 2 hours, so we’re talking about 2% vs 4%. Online seems like a much more practical option for this gathering of losers unless they need to be in person for nefarious criminal conduct reasons, whatever those might be.

  19. Most Libertarian National Committee meetings should be online. I would favor that the LNC only meet in person oncr or twice a year, or maybe once in person in an odd year and twice in person in an even year (the meetings at national conventions).

National conventions are a different animal. Sure, they could be online, but having them online would not generate as much publicity. Also, there is value in having social gatherings. National conventions are social gatherings. So I favor in person national conventions. The same with state conventions.

  20. Libertarians are not supposed to be socialist. I oppose these socialist gatherings. In reality they probably have to meet in El Paso because that was the only motel 6 that would allow them to stink up their lobby since it already smells like crap from all the Mexican cartel human trafficking. Either that or they were high on pcp and bath salts and mixed it up with the motel 666 in El Reno.

  21. Readonable driving distance could vary from person to person. I thimk most people would say anything more than 8 hours is not resonable. For some it could be 6 hours of 5 hours or 4 hours or 3 hours or 2 hours.

If one wants to define a reasonable drive 2 hours or less then it further illustrates why Richmond, VA was a much better choice than El Paso, TX because there is very little that is within a 2 hour drive from El Paso. The only city of any significance is Las Cruces, NM, which has 111,000 and something people in its city limits and around 217,000 and something people in its metro area. There are way more people withim 2 hours of Richmond, VA.

So why was El Paso, TX chosen over Richmond, VA? I think it was chosen so left-Libertarians can virtue signal at the US border. They are in line with the globalist ruling class puppetmasters and far left commies.

  22. Way over 90% aren’t driving either way unless they’re on the no fly list. Personally I am leaning towards the PCP and bath salts theory, but I agree, no one wants to smell these people – I use the term loosely – as they enter and exit the motel 6 lobby to pay for rooms and get coffee.

  23. A higher percentage of people will drive to the national convention if it is in a location which is a reasonable drive in a day.

Another factor to consider is the average cost of flights into a city for a convention.
