On September 6, New Hampshire holds a special election for State Representative in the 14th district of Rockingham County, centered on Seabrook. Libertarian nominee Brendan Kelly will run against Republican nominee Kevin Janvrin and Democratic nominee Ryan Mahoney. Kelly is one of the New Hampshire Libertarian Party’s strongest vote-getters. He has been an elected official in city government. In the upcoming special election, he is likely to get significant support from Republicans who are disappointed in the outcome of the Republican primary for this seat. The special election is needed because the previous incumbent resigned after being charged with reckless driving. The district is heavily Republican.
While I hope your observations are true, Republicans voters hate Democrats even more so I hope those voters vote their conscience and not simply vote for the Republican candidate because of the R. This seems to happen quite a lot these days. Republicans bitch and moan about a candidate they hate, but they elect that person anyway because they are worried about a Democrat getting elected.
I would vote 4 a libertarian over a RINO any day…tho since there is not a single decent person in the Democrat party anymore, anyone paying attention will see there is only a choice between the Republican and the Libertarian….since we are tainted with massholes, if they were to go in a conservative direction they would likely go Republican, but she wil have my vote…then we need to make sure Lynch NEVER sees another term…we would be thriving financially if not for him!
I hope those GOP’ers will wake up and vote for the only candidate who will give them liberty, not pandering to special interests!
Un-stated in the piece, Brendan is a pro-defense Libertarian, Veteran, and member of the Libertarian Defense Caucus.
In other words, he’s not a whackjob lefty Libertarian like some in the Party. I know Rep. Al Baldarrasso who is quoted in the piece suggesting GOPers back Brendan instead. Al’s a Marine Vet. You think that’s just a coincidence that Al is willing to break ranks and back fellow Veteran Brendan Kelly on a 3rd party ticket.
And the jerkoff lefty Libertarians will have you believe that pro-defense and Veteran Libertarians are not really “true” Libertarians and not helpful for the movement.
Eric: I think that it is the offense, not the defense, that Peaceful libertarians object to. If Iraq had invaded us, I would have fought them. It’s just that there is no point in fighting a helpless third world nation that could not have done us any harm if they tried, and moreover they never really tried.

Thanks for the website, TPP. What #4 and 5 are not recognizing is that the while debate about interventionism vs isolationism is not a left/right debate in and of itself in the LP. I am pretty sure that 90% of people in the LP would not describe themselves as either left or right -it’s an issue if freedom vs no freedom. The left wants to run the economy and regulate our guns away, while the right wants to legislate morality and create a theocracy. There’s no practical difference between the two.
