North Carolina requires 85,379 valid signatures for a new party, or a statewide independent, to get on the ballot in 2012. That is the second highest number of any state, after California. Americans Elect earlier submitted 125,032 signatures, and the validation process shows that it has enough valid signatures. Thanks to Kevin Hays for this news.
And the beat goes on. And the beat goes one.

under the Other column they currently have 3 registered voters in the state

They can’t have anyone registered yet. I have no idea why the state board would count anyone in other yet. Those go to unaffiliated automatically if you put in a unqualified party. American’s elect has enough signatures but are still considered unqualified by the state until they turn them all in to the state board of elections after the counties mail them back to the party. those 3 other’s are the result of a county not doing their job according to state law. I think you should be allowed to register into unqualified parties.
