On December 11, Ohio held a special election to fill the vacant U.S. House seat, 5th district. The vote is Latta, Republican, 56.9%; Weirauch, Democrat, 42.9%. No third choice was on the ballot. A declared write-in candidate, John Green, received .2%.
In November 2006, the vote for this seat had been Republican 56.8%, Democratic 43.2%.
Looks like a very minute up-tick for support in that district for the GOP. A complete tenth of a point.
If this trend continues it looks like the Democratic Party will maintain their majorities in their controlled districts and possibly take some GOP open seats in the swing states.
That also depends on who is on top of the Democratic Ticket. It flows from the top, not the bottom.
