Four parties have told the Texas Secretary of State that they will try to qualify for the 2008 ballot: Green, New American Independent, Reform, and Texas Independence. The deadline for filing this form is Wednesday, January 2. Unity08 has indicated it will also file this form, but it has not done so yet. The Libertarian Party doesn’t need to file it since it is already on the ballot.
What about the Constitution Party? Are they just going to try qualifying their Presidential candidate?
From past history the CP will skip Texas unless they have a major name as a nominee for president. In Texas it takes too much time, money, and effort to get on the ballot, and they get too few votes in return in November.
The deadline for filing a letter with Sec of State in Texas is January 2, 2008. This only say’s you are thinking about petitioning. I don’t know what is wrong with the Constitution Party leadership.
