On March 6, Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber chose Matt Donohue for a vacancy in the Circuit Court, 21st district. See this story. Donohue is a registered member of the Pacific Green Party and has been serving in an elected non-partisan office, Corvallis School Board. Thanks to Blair Bobier for the news.
This is great!!! The party will truly gain ground here!
But he plays down his politics. I guess politics has nothing to do with Clarence Thomas either.
“Donohue is one of six Green Party members who hold a public office in Oregon, but he said that politics won’t play a role in his new position.
“What people expect when they come before a judge is that they listen to the facts of their case and they apply it to the law,” he said. “ … I don’t really think being a Green Party member is going to mean much in the day-to-day operations.””
