Richard Coolidge of the Colorado Secretary of State’s office just sent an addendum on Presidential filings.
In addition to the list below, these candidates also filed:
Charles Jay – The Boston Tea Party
James Harris – Socialist Workers Party
William R. Koenig
Thomas Robert Stevens – Objectivist Party
Alan Keyes
These are added to the Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Constitution parties, as well as the list below:
Ralph Nader – Unaffiliated
Jonathan Allen – Heartquake 08
Bradford Lyttle – Pacifist
Gene Amondson – Prohibition
Gloria LaRiva – Socialism
Brian Moore – Socialist
Elvena Lloyd-Duffie – Republican [this label will need to change]
Frank McEnulty – Unaffiliated
On checking around, Thomas Robert Stevens might be Dr. Tom Stevens, formerly of the Boston Tea Party.
Should be interesting to see who Keyes picked as his VP candidate too.
where’s bob barr
Too bad PA isn’t this open with ballot access!
As noted down the page, the Big 5 are already on (Obama, McCain, Barr, Baldwin, The Green nominee)
Also, the largest ballot in Colorado before this year was in 1996 when 13 made the ballot. In 2004, 12 made the ballot with one write-in finishing 8th (Kennedy)
The 2004 lineup for third parties: Reform (Nader), Libertarian, Constitution, Green, Unaffiliated (Andress), Concerns of the People (Amondson), Socialist Equality, Socialist Workers, Socialist, and Prohibition
Parties not on the ballot in 2008 that made it in 2004: Reform, Concerns of the People, and Socialist Equality. COP is understandable, as it’s leader (Heckman) died and Amondson got the Prohibition line. I haven’t read anything suggesting an SEP line in 2008.
And the newcomers include Boston Tea, Objectivist, Heartquake, Pacifist, and PSL.
It’s looking like the WWP may not run someone this year (they lost a lot of members to the PSL). Also, Templin and the American Party is effectively dead now, as they couldn’t make the ballot in Colorado again.
In so many states, voters have to choose only a lesser of two evils.
Lucky Coloradans! They get to choose a least of 18 evils … with a much greater chance that someone might even not be an evil.
ALAN KEYES? I THOUGHT HE LOST THE CONSTITUTION PARTY NOD. DOES THIS MAN HAVE NO SHAME.

Shame? no
$500 and 9 Electors? YES
WELL STATED BROTHER PERRY.
Alan Keyes has as much right to run for president as anyone else does. Most of the attacks on this man seem racist to me!
PHIL KEYES IS JUST A PLAIN FOOL HAS NOTNINGTO DO WITH SKIN COLOR. OF COURSE HE HAS A RIGHT TO RUN. THAT IS NOT THE POINT OF DISCUSSION.
You state that Mr. Keyes “is just a plain fool.” It is my belief that when a person in a debate resorts to name calling, then that person is most likely losing the debate on the actual issues!
Furthermore, why are you writing in capital letters? That is supposed to be like yelling, from what I have heard. Once again, an (anti-logical) trick that people use when they are losing on the issues.
Keyes cannot get on any ballot that requires more than 15 signatures – as proven at his website – where questions about ballot access go unanswered. Keyes runs for office as that his only source of income – yes, he pulls cash from his campaign. Legal, yet entirely unethical. He is the personification of a religious hypocrite. He did not give his daughter unconditional love (yeah, that’s christian [NOT]) and tries to ram his version of christianity down the throat of non-christians via attempts at elected office. He garnered 0.3% of the primary vote – for a reason. Very VERY few people agree with any of his views. He is trying (but will fail here too) to get on the ballot here in CO so he can claim SOMETHING. Funny how he cannot get anyone to agree to be his VP.
Keyes has a few fanatical followers and nothing more. He’s is everyone’s election year joke. He even did a cameo appearance on the Borat movie, it was the most publicity he had in the last 8 years. He thought he was going to be in something serious, turns out it was a mocking joke. Yes, he has no VP because no serious politician would join with AK’s campaign. He fails at every election, usually in last place by far.
Wonder when, or if, he will reveal his campaign financial disbursements to his few followers? Bet not, again.
