New York State Independence Party Leadership Consolidates More Power Over County Units of Party

Some years ago, the New York Independence Party passed a Bylaw, giving control of nomination decisions in New York city to the state party committee, instead of the local county committes within New York city. The specific nomination decisions involved were on which non-members of the party could run in the Independence Party’s primary.

Now the state committee of the Independence Party has passed another bylaw, giving state party control over counties with a population greater than 750,000, but only for districts entirely within such counties. That bylaw seems to have been passed to alter the outcome in one particular State Senate race in Nassau County (part of Long Island). See this article for the details. The move is helpful to the Republican Party in that particular district.

  1. I see Messer MacKay continues his flirtations with the Republican Party. earlier he held a lovefest with John John McCain.

Looks as if Messer MacKay is a closeted Republican or perhaps that is another source of his remuneration. He has made political prostitution a career. Please get a real job Franky baby.

  2. Opportunity to Ballot IPNY project

On Thursday July 17th IPNY OTB petitions were filed in Albany (NYS-BOE) and Kingston (UC-BOE) for all political and party offices contested in 2008 political cycle — at least two weeks more of OTB petitioning (until July 31st) will continue and be filed and then added to the current filing pending a federal court order

    IPNY-OTB’s filed for CD-22, SD-42, AD-100, AD-101, AD-107, AD 127, Ulster County Exec and Comptroller, 3rd Dept JD Conv. Del/Alt for 100, 101, 107, 127 in U.C.; including state committee and county committee

Presidential IPNY-OTBs may still be circulated for precedent litigation purposes

County Leaders of New York City Independence Party Respond to Court of Appeals Decision Robert Conroy v. State Committee of the Independence Party of New York
    June 10, 2008

“The New York City county organizations continue to control the Independence Party line in citywide elections, including the 2009 races for Mayor, Public Advocate and Comptroller. With our expanding base of support at the local level and thousands of Independence Party members joining county committees in their boroughs, we will continue the fight for democracy in the party. Ultimately, the future of the party will be decided by the voters, not the courts.”

Robert Conroy: Chair, Kings County IP

Gerald Everett: Chair, Queens County IP

  4. The so called New York county committee chairs only got their seats though fraud. We did a mailing to all their so called county committee people. There was about 1/3 that did not even know they were on it. Anther third was returned. They put a New York City police officer on the committee with out his knowledge. This could have cost him his job, because police office can not hold party offices. But the worst was they put a young woman on the county committee who was in Iraq at the time. And her moth stated that she had been for over 6 months at the time. If you don’t believe me just call the New York City Board of Elections and ask them how many complaints they received two years ago.( 212-487-5300) I still have all the back up information. They are up to their same tricks this year too.
