The Southern Illinoisan might also end up writing their own editorial about Illinois’ messed up ballot access laws. They’re currently reviewing a letter to the editor I sent in a few days ago about this very subject and even if they don’t publish it, it seems possible that they’d publish their own statement. They’ve already come out in favor of Paula Bradshaw being included in the IL-12th district debates.
If they do, that’ll be major newspapers from just about every part of the state, Chicago/northern Illinois, central Illinois, and southern Illinois. The Democrats and Republicans have got to be feeling the bad PR by now. Question is, will voters respond to it?
The cities are ordinarily referred to as Champaign-Urbana. Champaign is the larger city, and has the office of the newspaper. The University of Illinois branch reverses the two in its name.
