  1. What has happened to the American Constitution Party which ran a strong race 4 years ago with former congressman Tom Tancredo? Are they still in existence?

  2. It is running Amanda Campbell for Secretary of State. She is very likely to poll over 1% of the vote, and that will keep the party ballot-qualified, although it will revert to being the kind of party that nominates by convention, not by primary.

  3. Thanks for the update.

I can understand why this party – the state affiliate of the national Constitution(al) Party – would want to “revert to being the kind of party that nominates by convention, not by primary.”

They are afraid to have a Primary Election for fear a true populist Constitutionalist candidate will come along and interpret the U.S. Constitution as it really reads, and not the way they want it to read.

A convention controlled by party bosses would prevent such from happening, but an open Primary Election for nominating candidates might enlighten its members to a definition of the Constitution of the United States they have never heard, and nominate candidates reflecting such definition.

No Sirree Bob. Got to keep the members in that 1790 mindset.

  4. Unaffiliated Candidate beat the American Constitution Party 2006.
