The Michigan House Elections & Ethics Committee is hearing testimony on HB 5974. The committee meeting started at noon, Tuesday, December 2. This is the second hearing the committee has held on the bill. It would split Michigan’s electoral votes somewhat proportionally. However, the bill provides that only the two candidates who placed first and second could ever get any electoral votes. The bill is fiercely opposed by Democrats.
