  1. No offence to my Green friends, but the name “Green” is not in vogue in the United States. This is why it is looked upon as an extreme liberal group who hides their radical agenda under other issues within their overall issue of concern for the environment.

As I’ve posted only recently, Greens needs to change their name to “Progressive” in the United States and then I think the voters will be more receptive of them. To many, Green is synonymous with communist. That word doesn’t’ fly down in the deep South.

There made be little pockets of “Greenism” in some areas, around college towns, but it don’t play in Peoria, Illinois. So again, if you want to start a major 3rd party that is receptive without prejudice from the voters, then change to “Progressive” while you have the time. There is already 1 or 2 states at most which some group has already adapted the word “Progressive” and you might have to use another term in those states if you can’t them to merge with you.

But it is not too late now. Don’t ignore this veteran of 3rd party politics who is over 70 years of age and has had to learn the hard way about the way Americans think about politics.

If you wait another 25 years before you change, it might be too late for you. You’ll end up in the Cemetery of 3rd parties along with the Liberal Party and some others.

  2. How much money has the Green Party had to put behind these candidates? I congratulate them on their accomplishments, but I doubt very seriously they could get this percentage of seats in a city/state in the United States. Unless the people of Brighton, England are philosophically Green.
