California's Qualified Minor Parties Must Submit Presidential Primary Candidates by October 8

California has four ballot-qualified minor parties: American Independent (Constitution); Green; Libertarian; Peace & Freedom. All four of them traditionally hold their own presidential primaries. Each party state chair is empowered to tell the Secretary of State which names to list in that party’s presidential primary. This year, the state chairs must submit the list no later than October 8, 2007, earlier than it has ever been.
