I hope Canada allows the Green Party there into the debates. Not only would that be good for the Canadian Green Party, but that would also further ratchet up the pressure on the Commission on Presidential Debates to make the presidential debates more inclusive here in America. It would be extraordinarily difficult for them to ignore both the UK and Canada having debates with more than two parties featured in them.
Canada has had more than two parties for a long time. The NDP has been around for half a century or longer with significant numbers in Commons and before PQ there have been other national parties like the SoCreds with significant strength. I believe the two party duopoly (and debate format) is pretty much an American invention.
