North Carolina Legislature Still Undecided on 2016 Primary Date

This article summarizes the lack of activity so far in the North Carolina legislature, over when the presidential primary should be and when the primary for other office should be. The legislature still hasn’t passed a budget, which distracts it from issues like the primary date. If nothing is done, the presidential primary will be in February but if the national party rules are followed, North Carolina will lost most of its delegates to both major party conventions.

The only ballot-qualified party in North Carolina other than the two major parties is the Libertarian Party. It nominates by primary.

Adding to the complexity is that fact that the North Carolina Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the state’s U.S. House and legislative district boundaries on August 31, and the Court may invalidate some of the districts. If that happens, it will take time to redraw new lines. See this story, toward the bottom.

  1. Amy, unfortunately the Libertarian Party is set up for failure in 2016, because of the policy being set by the top.

National LP Political Director Carla Howell said “Who? That fat bitch?”

(After I introduced myself for the first time to her as having won the only Libertarian Party POTUS primary that fell before their national convention in 2012 Missouri, with 52.7% by promoting unity with all parties and independents including Roseanne Barr [Green Tea].) Note that she and Jill Stein are from MA, and may have both met each other while running for MA Senator.

That was her response to my winning not just one state, but the ONLY state, that fell before the Libertarian Party’s national convention.

National LP Executive Director Wes Benedict said; “I am not interested in a unifying voting system”, less that two weeks ago before the date on this post.

National LP Chair Nicholas Sarwark is for “None of the Above”. (i.e. nobody is better than everyone).

These are three of the top policy setters in the Libertarian Party in 2012 and 2016.

Therefore we can only deduce that the Libertarian Party will be dividing itself from all voters who are interested in working together for the good of the whole as the USA Parliament has been doing for twenty consecutive years, because they are not interested in uniting voters but instead they want to place road blocks against people trying to work together.

It’s clear that what the voters want doesn’t interest the Libertarian Party bosses, and those bosses will do anything to make sure that the voters’ votes don’t count for anything, not even free speech statements for their winner.

Who gets packed and cracked ???

    1/2 or less votes x 1/2 districts = 1/4 or less CONTROL.

    Carla Howell Libertarian 23,044 1.1%
    Barbara Johnson Independent 15,335 0.7%

  4. James mentions the 2002 Massachusetts vote for Governor. He might have included the 2002 Massachusetts vote for US Senator: John Kerry, Democrat, 1,605,976; Michael Cloud, Libertarian, 369,807.
