John Pickerill is the chairman of the Montgomery County, Indiana, Republican Party. In this op-ed in the Journal Register of Crawfordsville, he condemns Indiana election laws that give special powers to the two largest political parties. He could have mentioned the straight-ticket device, and the law that gives the two major parties the top spots on the ballot, and the ballot access laws, but he didn’t mention those points.

Montgomery County is in west central Indiana; Crawfordsville is the county seat. The county has a population of 38,124.
