Here is a link to the Oregon Secretary of State’s election returns. Three parties, Republican, Democratic, and Independent, had primaries. There are no presidential primary returns yet for the Independent Party because all the voters for that office are write-in votes, and write-ins don’t get counted on election night. But they will be tallied.
Link doesn’t work. And what happened to the Libertarian primary?
Hmm. Link was working — I tracked it up to an update just before noon that put Sanders ahead by over 10%, almost 10-1/2%.
And now (on my third try) it’s back, with the lead up over 10-1/2%:
238,009 (43.78%) Hillary Clinton
295,551 (54.36%) Bernie Sanders
10,105 ( 1.86%) Write-in Votes
543,665 (100%) Totals
And according to Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_Party_presidential_primaries,_2016#Oregon_primary
the Libertarian Presidential primary in Oregon runs (via mail, of course) through next Friday the 27th.
Oregon doesn’t give government-administered primaries to small qualified parties. The Oregon Independent Party is the first party (other than Dem or Rep) to have its own government-administered primary since 1914, when the Progressive Party had one in Oregon.
OK, so the Libertarian Party primary is paid for / administered by the Libertarian Party itself? Cool!
