The United States Agency for International Development, a government agency established in 1961 (USAID) in 2014 published recommendations to debate sponsors around the world. USAID recommended that debate sponsors be inclusive when they decide which parties and candidates to invite. See this article in The Intercept by Lee Fang.
Translation: Do as I say, not as I do.
While the article’s headline says the booklet advocates open debates, it appears that the booklet itself presents considerations for both sides without making a specific recommendation. Several of the booklet’s authors are from CPD. (https://www.ndi.org/files/Organizing%20and%20Producing%20Candidate%20Debates-an%20NDI%20international%20Guide.pdf pages 23-25)
The United States agency for International development should be abolished. Its just another Government waste .
