Very few pollsters ask respondents about every presidential candidate on the ballot in any state. This Wason Center for Public Policy poll for the presidential race in Virginia asks about all five ballot-listed candidates: Hillary Clinton, Gary Johnson, Evan McMullin, Jill Stein, and Donald Trump. Also it has interesting demographic breakdowns.
Suffolk has been including every candidate in their recent polls.
“The Libertarian lost ground in every demographic segment,…” Except that Johnson (and Stein and Trump) picked up ground among blacks. They were 4, 1 and 4 percent (respectively) in the September 26 poll and are now at 6, 7 and 3 percent (respectively)for this current poll. I also have a quibble about the report’s statement that Clinton’s gains came mostly from Johnson. As the pollsters did not ask if you switched, from whom did you switch, just looking at numbers can give you a distorted view of which voters are shifting and where. For example, look at the breakdown by sex (male), Clinton goes from 32 to 36 percent, Johnson goes from 15 down to 13 percent, Stein goes from 4 down to 1 percent and undecided/neither goes from a combined 6 to 4 percent. I could interpret that as Clinton’s gains coming mostly from Stein and undecided voters. Pollsters are now making conjectures based on facts they do not have. Then they wonder why some people think polls are biased.
Oops, transposed numbers. The third sentence should read “are now at 6, 3 and 7 percent..”
How many New Age folks are giving LIES to the moron pollsters — for fun and games purposes and/or to be politically correct or IN-correct ???
Will the Clinton/Trump lawyer hacks (aka hired guns) attack the election results in court based on such MORON polls ???
i.e. have SCOTUS meeting 24/7 for days and weeks after the Nov election day — dealing ONLY with the Prez/VP election ???
