Some Michigan Republicans Think Straight-Ticket Device Helped Republicans — 4 Comments

  1. Depends a bit on what percentage of the voters are marginal illiterates —

who just love the logos/symbols of the various parties.

  2. A rather naive analysis by Chad (sic) Livengood (sic) ace reporter for the Detroit Free Press in Lansing about a Detroit suburb.

There were more Democratic straight-ticket device votes in Macomb County than Republican, but there were more Republican votes for down-ballot races such as for State Board of Education and regents races.

About 58% of Republican straight-ticket voters used the straight-ticket device; vs. around 65% of Democratic straight-ticket voters.

What Democrats are concerned about is that if the straight-ticket device were removed, that Republican voters would be able to continue to figure out how to vote down the ballot.

(The Democrat who brought the lawsuit) Brewer said. “All of the stuff they’ve been saying about me this week, that’s just taunting me.”

He seems to think that the fact that they called him a donkey justified the lawsuit. News about the lawsuit may have prompted voters to vote for Trump and to also vote Republican down ballot.
