New Alaska Registration Data

As of July 3, here is the Alaska registration data. Percentages are: Republican 27.16%; Democratic 14.69%; Alaskan Independence 3.25%; Libertarian 1.42%; Green .33%; Constitution .07%; independent and miscellaneous 53.09%.

In November 2016, the percentages were: Republican 27.20%; Democratic 14.85%; Alaskan Independence 3.29%; Libertarian 1.43%; Green .32%; Constitution .07%; independent and miscellaneous 52.84%.

  1. Three of the political groups are from outside of Alaska. I wonder if they actually qualify as a political group, which is described as a “group of voters”. A “voter” is defined by Alaska statute as someone who presents themselves to vote in person or by absentee ballot. I think Alaska is implied. Would they accept an application from the Iowan Independence Party?

    The change in ratio between Nonpartisan and Undeclared voters in Alaska is remarkable. In 1996, there were 89K nonpartisans and 111K undeclared. In 2097 there are 84K nonpartisans and 190K undeclared.
