Thomas Elias, who writes about politics for approximately a dozen California daily newspapers, here has a column mentioning the initiative that has been filed for circulation to switch from a top-two system to a top-four system.

ANY body in CA, besides BAN, heard about PR and AppV
— to get REAL election reform in CA and ALL other States ???
California has an active organization called Californians for Electoral Reform, which works very hard to expand use of ranked choice voting, and also does what it can to work for proportional representation.
I think this would be a good idea, as long as there is a rule that no more than two candidates can be from the same party. So you could have 2 D’s vs 2 R’s, or a D vs R vs L vs G, or 2 D’s vs R vs L. Just don’t have 3 R’s against a D (or vis versa).
They should use single transferable to fill the top 4, then instant run off in the general.
NO primaries.
Condorcet – with AppV tiebreaker.
Some mini history about the gerrymander formation of ye olde English House of Commons —

OLD time gerrymanders (with *rotten boroughs* having low, low, low populations controlled by monarchs / oligarchs) 9up to 1832 in the UK) to New Age computerized gerrymanders with political concentration camp districts controlled by HACK monarchs / oligarchs — what changes !!!

Is Top Four twice as good as Top Two? 🙂
