On July 31, the North Dakota Supreme Court heard oral argument in Riemers v Jaeger. The issue is whether Roland Riemers, the only Libertarian Party candidate for statewide office this year, is entitled to a recount of the June 12 primary. He needs a recount if he is to appear on the November ballot. He can’t appear in November unless 300 people voted for him in the Libertarian primary. The state says he only got 247 votes.
