Voice of America News has a story about Libertarian and Green Party candidates who were elected on November 5, 2019. The story would have been more complete if it had also mentioned Working Families Party nominees (who were not the nominees of any other party) who won partisan races on the same day in Philadelphia and Hartford.
There’s something outrageous about this. Throughout the US, the incumbent Rs and Ds consistently try to minimize and push out minor parties. Then the US government tries to pretend to the world that the US is a highly pluralistic democracy.

There now appears to be a frontrunner in the GP prez sweepstakes.
The GP is planning a major meeting at the end of November in Camden, NJ, hometown of GP presidential candidate Robert Milnes. Milnes is a distinguished progressive activist involved in civil liberties and solo male reproductive freedom who was unjustly imprisoned in the 80’s as a political prisoner by the surveillance state.
Holding the meeting in Camden clearly shows the GP is leaning toward naming Milnes as its nominee in 2020. We’ll see at the convention next year but at the moment my money’s on Milnes!
@Egyptian: There are currently only two recognized candidates for the Green Party 2020 presidential nomination: Howie Hawkins https://howiehawkins.us/ and Dario Hunter https://www.dariohunter.com/ They are ranked 41st and 55th in amount of funds raised among all presidential candidates. There are several other candidates who have filed with the FEC, and informed the GP that they are attempting to meet the criteria for recognition. Milnes has not done either.
The meeting in Camden is a small retreat on long term planning. It is not related to any presidential candidates, nor to the state primaries, caucuses, and conventions that will determine the GP nominee.
