Democratic National Committee Might Eliminate Donor Requirement so that Michael Bloomberg Can Qualify for Democratic Debates

This article says there is some reason to believe the Democratic National Committee will revise its rules for getting into the Democratic debates. The current rules prevent Michael Bloomberg from qualifying, because they require 300,000 donors and Bloomberg isn’t accepting donations.

Democratic National Committee Might Eliminate Donor Requirement so that Michael Bloomberg Can Qualify for Democratic Debates — 20 Comments

  1. Just be good little Donkeys and VOTE for a RED Donkey zillionaire —

who cares about the endless time and effort it took for the olde Donkeys to set up the 2020 Donkey nomination process [dating back to the 1968 Chicago RIOT convention during the RED Donkey LBJ Vietnam WAR] ???

    ABOLISH the EC timebomb.

    PR and AppV and TOTSOP

  2. The DNC should switch to a national primary.

Delegates could qualify by congressional district with a petition of 0.1% of the 2016 presidential vote. Delegates would also be apportioned on that basis. Delegates could pledge themselves to a presidential candidate, with permission of the candidate. Delegates chosen by STV.

  3. So change the rules to benefit one guy. That’s convenient. It must be nice to be so important that rules get changed to benefit you.

  4. Who’s to say they wouldn’t do the same if Andy announced his campaign for the Democratic nomination right now?

  5. LOL! I do not think that would happen. 1) They would not like me, and they’d want to shut me out; and 2) I do not have, nor could I raise, the level of money that Michael Bloomberg has.

  6. For the next debate (in December), they shouldn’t change the rules. But for the future debates, it doesn’t matter to me whether they do or don’t change the rules, considering that they haven’t announced the rules yet.

If not, maybe Bloomberg should organize his own debate against Bennet, Bullock, Delaney, Patrick, and Williamson. Granted, that means they would all be barred from the following Democratic debate … but if they weren’t going to be admitted to that debate anyway, they wouldn’t be losing anything.

  7. When do *scheduled* Donkey Prez candidates so-called *debates* end ???

One day before Donkeys national convention ???

AD HOC debates due to Bloomberg — with him buying the TV time ???

  8. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2019/11/30/trump-better-president-lincoln-republicans-say/40733903/

Trump is better president than Lincoln, 53% of Republicans say

How moronic are New Age Polls ???

LOTS of moron students in publik skoools ??? —

who would NOT detect 1861-1865 Civil WAR I and the 13-14-15 Amdts [resulting from such WAR] if they fell on their MORON heads in a 1,000 pound Con Law / legal history book ???

IE USA – now totally ready for communist vs fascist Civil WAR II ???

    See Germany 1929-1933
    See Spain 1931-1936 – 1936-1939
    See olde China 1927-1949
    etc etc etc.

  9. According to the article, the requirement is 200,000 unique donors, not 300,000. (Although this could of course change with the requirements of the January debate, which haven’t been announced.)

  10. They want to change the rule because the party realizes their candidates don’t have much of a shot against Trump. They feel Bloomberg does.

  11. How about a 2016 Clinton and 2016 Stein combo ???

AD HOC more change [rules] ???

More chsnges up to end of Donkey national convention.

  12. Another donors classification —

A accept ONLY *small* donations — from those *little* people

Z accept ONLY * BIIIIG* donations — from the econ oligarchs who really control the economy

    — via their gerrymander robot hack puppets in the USA Congress esp.

  13. It could be a set up. I can already see Sanders and Warren attacking his “privileged” status.

  14. They have Tom Steyer if they want to attack a billionaire. Steyer has already met the polling threshold and can’t be far off from meeting the donor requirement.

I honestly don’t know which billionaire I like less. Bloomberg because of his proven track record in government or Steyer because he spent a bunch of money (through NextGen America) attacking Gary Johnson in 2016.

  15. Why is everybody here so concerned about the establishment candidates? It’s all Richard’s fault – shouldn’t even be giving those monkeys the time of day let alone free media.

  16. Give it up, Chinese spies. We will not allow your Manchurian candidate Joe Biden to ever be our president. We already have a perfect one and we’re keeping HIM!
