Max Abramson Withdraws from Libertarian Presidential Race — 34 Comments

  1. I do not think Max Abrahamson was getting much support, so this is not much of a story (regardless of his merits or demerits).

  2. My campaign was placed in the top third of candidates in most online polls, but never reached first place, as far as I know. After 25 years in the Libertarian Party, I have seen the writing on the wall and have already posted what I think is going wrong with the party.

I am now working with other people to see if it’s possible to build another third party or movement that will actually work to get pro-liberty people elected to office to protect our rights.

  3. No offense, but there are lots of people running for the LP’s presidential nomination, and most of them are no names even by LP standards.

Starting a new political party is extremely difficult, especially without big money and/or big names Who can raise big money. Getting ballot access is very difficult, and getting name recognition among tbe public is even more difficult.

  4. The Election ROT in the LP matches the Election ROT in ALL govts in the USA.

    Remedies —

Uniform definition of LP member in ALL of the USA — NOOO state/local machinations.

DIRECT nominations and elections by ALL such party members —

NOOO clubby caucuses / primaries / conventions.

PR for all LP legis bodies – with faction labels — mini-gov, anarchist, etc.

APPV for all LP elected execs and judges.

    TOTAL Separation of Powers.

PR/Appv pending Condorcet with Appv tiebreaker.

  5. Starting a new party is a fool’s errand. I see this with dissatisfied LP members, as well as CP members. If you have an issue with the internal workings of an existing party, what makes you think a new party wouldn’t have the same types of issues in the unlikely event that it grew?

What people need to do is join the party that matches their beliefs on issues. Focus on electing candidates at the state and local level. If you have an issue with internal party politics, fight to win control of that party. It may take time and you may not get your way all the time.

Heck, Republicans and Democrats don’t always get their way and win the internal battles. Starting a new party with similar beliefs on issues, but different internal structures is a waste of energy and resources. Fight to make the existing party more in line with how you think it should operate.

  6. Problem is many of these parties, especially the LP, are corrupt. Michigan Voter, your state’s LP is one of the most corrupt. The Constitution Party has their own issues.

Starting a new party is work, but it is a better option.

  7. Walt,

Explain to me how organizing state party organizations in 50 states, educating voters on what the new party stands for, and getting on the ballot across the country is easier than replacing the leadership in the existing state party?

If you can’t get enough people together to take control of your state party, you aren’t strong enough to create a new national party. My guess is they will do what all these other cranks do and start there own breakaway ‘party’ that consists of a few dozen people at most, which will then fade into obscurity.

  8. TOTAL lawyer incompetence for minor parties and independents doing ballot access cases since 1968 Williams v Rhodes.

    1. Brown v Bd of Ed – separate is NOT EQUAL.

    2. EQUAL in 14-1

    3. Each election is NEW.

    4. INDIVIDUALS are elected — NOT parties.

    [5] ONE PERSON NOMINATION FORMS.

ALLEN V COOPER 18-877 OK FOR STATE TO VIOLATE PRIVATE COPYRIGHT IN USA COPYRIGHT LAW.

  9. The National LP is a failure. How many people are elected on a partisan basis? That’s the key.

  10. Walt,

Do you honestly think Libertarian Party candidates are not being elected because something the national officers are doing? Could it be that most Americans do not hold libertarian beliefs?

Do you honestly think a new party based on libertarian philosophy would be more successful than the Libertarian Party? It’s not going to happen.

  11. Beliefs are a distant second. There are and have been alt/third parties of all sorts of ideology. L.p. has done better by almost all measures than any of them in nearly a century, when ballot access barriers and costs of campaigns and media were much different. Back then the socialists were significant. Subsequently they have split into a myriad of tiny insignificant splinters.

  12. On another thread you (cyberpig) said you may have been infected with corona and we didn’t know whether you were joking or not. I was concerned due to your underlying diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and elephantiasis. Can you confirm whether or not you tested positive for corona?

  13. Egyptian God, who are you? Robert Milnes? Kristof Lesiak? Former LP member who has previously lived in West Virginia and Maryland?

  14. One thing the Libertarian Party has is staying power. While the party has had only very limited success in electing people, only to local offices and a small handful of state legislature seats years ago, the party does fill an important void in the political spectrum.

  15. The name is Lazarus. Lazarus Mudd. I am an artist. I am the inspiration behind David Bowie’s song and play “Lazarus.” I wrote the song “Egyptian God”, which you can find on YouTube. David Bowie inspired it. It is the debut single off my yet-to-be released EP of the same name.

  16. LOL! “Lazarus Mudd” is another obvious alias.

I have to wonder if you are another troll, maybe working for another agency than the other troll or trolls here. Like maybe you are FBI or CIA and the other one is Mossad or JIDF. Maybe we have a little bit of Spy vs Spy going on here.

  17. According to Robert Milnes, the cyberpig is Mossad.

    Where is David Bowie from?

My friend Magnus Dahlstrom (sp) hails from the villa of Ormen (Blackstar).

If you want answers, listen to the Blackstar album. Preferably on vinyl. Then watch the videos associated with the songs, particularly “Lazarus.” Pay attention to the symbology in the video. This will get you closer to the truth.

  18. It’s precious how “Andy” and “Egyptian” dud is pretending like he’s not the same person.

  19. I do not believe Ed Ng exists, at least not under that name. Another obvious troll.

  20. What you and your alternate personality believe has nothing to do with reality. Between the “three” of us I’m the only one using my full real name. So is Brandon Lyon and, presumably, Max Abramson.

  21. I have nothing to do with this “Egyptian God” character.

What LP state chapter is “Ed Ng” a member? I have never heard of “Ed Ng” outside of here.

One thing that was highly suspicious about “Ed Ng” was that in a comment on another thread here, he repeated an obscure bumper sticker slogan that was on tbe back of former LP petitioner Gary Fincher’s car over more than 10 years ago. The only otber person here that would know this besides myself is Paul, and Paul did comment on that bumper sticker and repeat it on more than one occasion. I have never heard anyone else utter that phrase from this bumper sticker, yet more than a decade later, so character supposedly named “Ed My” pops up, repeating some of the same talking points we’ve seen many times, often posted by other troll names, and “Ed Ng” just so hapoens to repeat the phrase from this obscure bumper sticker from over a decade ago word for word. Suspicious.

  22. You’re nuts and I already told you I’m not who you think I am and not a member of any state l.p. I highly doubt that you are not Egyptian gasbag but I also don’t care. I’m not going to indulge your paranoia further. I’d tell you to get mental help, but I know you won’t.

  23. If anyone needs mental help, it’s the cyberpig. He obviously has multiple personality disorder. He acted like he was Andy’s friend and then posted their hotel room and phone number, accused Andy of being a closet homosexual, and then lied to Andy and got him paranoid about being surveilled, when it was cyberpig all along. His impersonation of Andy on IPR got so bad that it caused Andy to get arrested for making terroristic threats that cyberpig actually made under Andy’s name. Cyberpig created the nazi character Vernon, meant to tie libertarians he did not like with nazis and attack himself to garner sympathy as an antiracist crusader under attack. Then after he didn’t get the sympathy he desired, he created the WTF characters (Wang Tang Fu, William t. Forrest, Wahid Tariq Fasal), which he used to lay the foundation for the claim that Andy was a crazed racist bigot. Zed Jiggler exposed WTF as the cyberpig and then Zed was never heard from again. In drag, cyberpig created “V for Vagina” and shortened it to Gina, which he used to frame Andy as sexist and anti-choice. Through a slew of these characters and others he provoked Andy and then complained to Warren Solomon as them to give the illusion of popular support for Andy’s ban and then got Andy banned from IPR.

I’m glad Andy now realizes the truth.

  24. Anyways, like I was saying….It’s a dumb idea to try to start a new party.

  25. Wow Andy/Egyptian you have quite a vivid imagination.

    Michigan voter, you are correct.
